The 2024 presidential campaign of Joe Biden has been officially ended.

Concerns about Biden’s age and suitability for office were something his team hoped his expertise and record in government would dispel.

The idea of a second Trump administration has also been front and center throughout the campaign.

Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier was among those who had earlier called Trump’s return to the White House a danger to US democracy; nonetheless, there has been a recent surge of support for him.

“Bringing President Trump back to the White House will jeopardize our democracy and drastically undermine our economy,” Frazier warned the Financial Times.

The Democrats need to quickly choose a new presidential candidate to oppose Trump now that Biden has withdrew.
