The beloved gospel singer and “Hee Haw” star Lulu Roman passed away at the age of 78.

She sang about Jesus all her life. Check out her performance of “Amazing Grace” here. Roman became well-known for her part in the CBS comedy Hee Haw.

She became pals with country music icon Buck Owens, who facilitated her cast debut. Owens said that she had “quick wit.”

She also starred in Hee Haw Honeys, a spinoff series that ran from 1978 to 1979. Throughout her career, she starred in a number of movies and TV series. Her album You Were Loving Me won her a Dove Award in 1985.

She was inducted into the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and worked with well-known performers including George Jones and Dolly Parton.
