The identity of the British Airways flight attendant who was discovered dead in a hotel room in San Francisco has been revealed.
The County Medical Examiner’s Office told PEOPLE that the crew member was Irfan Ali Mirza, 45. He was a resident of Britain.
“There is no additional information to disclose or further comment at this time,” the office of the medical examiner stated in a statement. We have informed Mirza’s next of kin.
The San Francisco Police Department tells PEOPLE that Mirza was discovered dead in a hotel on April 17 at approximately 2:21 p.m. local time. No indication of foul play was discovered by the responding officers.
According to The Standard and The Telegraph, the flight attendant arrived at the hotel two days before a planned return flight to the UK.
According to accounts, on April 17, a colleague “didn’t answer his phone” and failed to show up for work, prompting crew colleagues to inquire about his whereabouts with hotel management.
