Unexpectedly, two 14-year-old girls have been charged with the “brutal and calculated” murder of a 93-year-old woman in Kansas, according to the victim’s family.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), the two teenagers were “arrested for first-degree murder connected” to Joanne Johnson’s death last Thursday.
Their names have not been made public since they are minors.
The KBI stated that formal charges are still pending and that the two suspects are being housed at different juvenile prison facilities. The inquiry is still on.
On September 3, 2023, Johnson, a single woman, was discovered dead in her Augusta, Kansas, house.
