Emma Roberts has spoken publicly about the influence her family’s careers in cinema and television have had on her own.
From her debut in Ted Demme’s 2001 film Blow, in which she appeared at the tender age of nine, the 33-year-old has gone on to act in a plethora of romantic comedies, thrillers, and horror films.
Despite having several relatives working in the field, Roberts’ name hasn’t come up much in the continuing conversation around “nepobabies,” and she has subsequently offered her thoughts on why that may be.
Famous for his roles in critically acclaimed television shows and films including Grey’s Anatomy, Suits, Lumina, and Crimes of the Past, actor Eric Roberts is Roberts’ father.
Eric Cunningham wed Eliza Roberts, an actress who is now a casting director and acting teacher; Eliza’s parents are the late screenwriters David Rayfiel and Lila Garrett; and the couple moved on after Kelly Cunningham’s divorce.
Roberts’ mother wed a performer. Kelly Nickels’ aunts, Lisa Roberts Gillan and Julia Roberts, are also actresses.
