That Von Trier used a stand-in actor in place of Dafoe’s real penis for the naked sequences.
The celebrated director stated in a 2009 interview with The Boston Phoenix that he had to bring in another body since the star was “so large” and “left people confused.”
Regarding Dafoe, he has a huge d**k. He clarified, “We had to remove such sequences from the movie.
“We had to take the scenes out with his own d**k, so we had a stand-in for him.” Von Trier explained the choice by saying, “We had to, because Will’s was too big,” in response to a question.
The magazine questioned the director further about whether Defoe’s penis was too large to fit on film, a question the director flatly refused to answer.
