Hayden reports, “They were scattered throughout his body; one was lodged beneath his eyelid, another in his ear, and another in his knee.”
The veterinarian had to almost completely shear Jackson’s fur in order to remove the numerous plastic casings. He was required to leave 20 cartridges in their original location and extricate a total of 27 projectiles.
Additionally, the veterinarian identified 20 additional projectile wounds in Jackson’s diminutive frame. He had sustained nearly 70 gunshot wounds.
Assistant Chief Craig Hayes of the Seymour Police Department stated, “I have never witnessed an animal being shot that many times. It is a very unfortunate situation.”
I find it incomprehensible that an individual could perpetrate such a horrific act on a dog, particularly when the dog has never caused harm to anyone.
