The father of a store worker who was discovered confined behind a refrigerator for a decade has stated that he felt as though the earth had devoured him whole.

The father of the deceased supermarket worker, Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, expressed that he felt as though the earth had engulfed him entirely after his disappearance.

Murillo-Moncada, 25, mysteriously disappeared in 2009 during a severe snowstorm in Council Bluffs, Iowa, following an apparent dispute with his parents.

Murillo-Moncada’s family reported his disappearance to the authorities after he failed to return home. They stated that their son was “barefoot” and “hallucinating” when he fled the family home.

After the initial investigations were ineffectual, Murillo-Moncada’s disappearance was classified as a closed case until the devastating truth was revealed a decade later.

When workmen began to remove the fridges from the closed No Frills supermarket in 2019, where Murillo-Moncada had worked, they made a horrifying discovery.

Human remains were positioned upside down in an 18-inch crevice between one of the store’s 12ft refrigerators.
