The father of a store worker who was discovered confined behind a refrigerator for a decade has stated that he felt as though the earth had devoured him whole.

The police have also commented on the prolonged period of time that Murillo-Moncada’s body remained undiscovered.

They have stated that they are of the opinion that the refrigeration mechanism’s sounds would have likely subdued any cries from the 25-year-old.

Sergeant Brandon Danielson stated to the BBC, “It is likely that no one heard him because it is so loud.”

Sgt. Danielson, who was involved in the investigation of Murillo-Moncada’s disappearance in 2009, stated, “We encounter missing persons on a regular basis; however, this is an exceptional instance.”
