A rare cancer patient decided to create postmortem history by being the first female dissected on television.
Toni Crews, a native of Kent, tragically passed away in August 2020 at the age of thirty following a rare kind of cancer diagnosis.
However, Toni acknowledged that she had been “fascinated” by what her body was doing before to her passing.
She also told her parents that she wanted to preserve her memories and use her body as a means of donating it to help “educate millions” about cancer research.
Ultimately, her choice led to the production of the Channel 4 documentary My Dead Body, which debuted on December 5, 2022.
Prior to the launch of the episode, Toni’s mother Jo told The Guardian, “She came out of the kitchen with a pile of forms.”
