After receiving an anonymous 911 call, police conducted a welfare check, but the second-floor apartment’s door was unanswered.
Additionally, police sources told the news site that even though neighbors informed authorities that they hadn’t seen the mother or her kids in two weeks.
They had no reason to break down the door because they didn’t smell anything or hear any noises.
‘[The cops] said they’d be back in a few days,’ a neighbor added. She was attempting to obtain a court order to have the door broken in, according to one of the social workers.
According to reports, neighbors had been hearing “screaming” emanating from the apartment for a number of days.
