Police informed Hubert that they thought his daughter, who had asthma, would have died of heart arrest, leaving Nazir to tragically starve to death. Both bodies were found to have no evidence of trauma.
Promise was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition after it is thought that she survived by eating chocolate that she discovered in the family house.
Heartbroken “He was so small,” Hubert said of Nazir, who is currently caring for Promise in his Bronx home. I grasped him in my hand. similar to a bird, especially a juvenile one.
Though she hasn’t said anything, he explained that Promise frequently stares at him “like she knows something,” suggesting that she may be traumatized from spending so many days with her mother’s and brother’s bodies.
Hubert informed the news organization that Cotton had mental health issues and that he thought she might have had bipolar disorder.
The mother was arrested in June 2021 on allegations of child abandonment, and according to police sources, she also had an Administration for Children’s Services case outstanding against her.
