Two individuals have lost their lives and two others are missing after coming into touch with what is believed to be the largest isolated tribe in the world.

There have been reports of conflicts between lumberjacks and the Mashco Piro indigenous village in Peru’s Amazon on Thursday, July 29.

The event happened in the Madre de Dios region, when loggers were being assaulted with bows and arrows while they were clearing a path through the jungle.

According to Reuters, the deaths have been verified by Daniel Pena, a spokesman for FENAMAD, a group that represents thirty villages in the area.

According to them, two workers were slain and two more are still missing, while one worker was hurt by a bow and arrow.
