The last member of the Mod Squad, Michael Cole, passes away at age 84.

The Mod Squad, Cochran, who was born on July 3, 1940, in Madison, Wisconsin, had his acting debut in the 1961 movie Forbid Them Not and in small roles on television.

Cole costarred with Peggy Lipton and Clarence Williams III as three young “hippie” misfits who were recruited to serve as undercover detectives in order to avoid going to prison.

The Mod Squad, which Aaron Spelling produced, was among the first mainstream Hollywood productions to take the counterculture seriously.

Cole played the role of Cochran, the long-haired, disillusioned young man. After being expelled by his wealthy parents in Beverly Hills and being jailed.

For attempting to steal a vehicle, Cochran joins the youth squad, which is led by Captain Adam Greer (Tige Andrews).
