‘Immediate and decisive action’ was taken once administration learnt of the occurrence, the district said in a letter to parents, telling them of the arrest.
The family of the student was informed of the connection and is actively involved in the inquiry, the letter said. Additionally, Child Protective Services has been informed.
The message went on to say, “Any inappropriate relationship between a staff member and a student is wholly unacceptable and violates the trust placed in our employees.”
“To protect our students and maintain the integrity of our schools, we have taken this matter very seriously and have moved quickly at every turn.”
Early on Saturday morning, Woodworth was freed on bond after being arrested and sent to the Bexar County Jail. The jail records show that she was granted $50,000 bail.
For having an inappropriate connection with a pupil, Woodworth is charged with a second-degree felony.
