‘The Artist is Present’, which took place at the Museum of Modern Art in New York from March to May 2010, featured Abramović sitting across from an empty chair and appearing every day for three months.
The audience was asked to sit across from her and engage in a quiet discussion. Both Alan Rickman and Abramović’s ex-girlfriend Ulay participated in the exhibition.
