“No one in Maryland, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and [Alejandro] Mayorkas, took any kind of action on behalf of the Democratic Party.
Patty said, “I did receive a call from Gov. Wes Moore, D-Md., but none of the senators did anything to help search for the murderer of my daughter.”
In his statement on Tuesday on Martinez-Hernandez’s conviction, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., said the decision “brings a measure of justice” that the family is entitled to.
Patty said that after seeing their mother’s murder again throughout the trial, her grandkids were struggling.

When one of her grandchildren recalled the last time she had talked to her mother, she broke down in tears and mounted the stand.
“She couldn’t control herself any longer, as you heard when she left the courtroom after her testimony. She was simply crying uncontrollably. “It was just heartbreaking,” Patty Morin said.
