First, we learn that the salon employee was completely unaware that Stewart had made an appointment. She then requested advance payment for the massage, which she complied with.
But that’s when things started to become awkward. The proprietor of the salon gave Stewart a slip to sign after she happily paid the $80 for the massage.
The form asked how much she wanted to pay for the service she hadn’t yet gotten. At this point, Stewart was confused and didn’t know what to do.
