Notwithstanding the gravity of their offenses, the two refused to enter a jail cell. The brothers were given community service and probation by Webster County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Berkstresser.
Aaron and Petie are have to do 100 hours of community service and will be on probation for five years. They also have to submit an apologetic letter.

Berkstresser said that he didn’t want to see the brothers in jail because he believed that they would become the focus of prison brutality, despite his claims that he took the offenses very seriously.
