Viktoriia’s corpse had “signs of torture and some organs removed, possibly to hide further traces of torture,” according to a joint media report according to CBS News.
“The forensic examination revealed numerous signs of torture and ill-treatment on the victim’s body, including abrasions and hemorrhages on various parts of the body,
A broken rib, neck injuries, and possibly electric shock marks on her feet,” stated Yuriy Belousov, head of the War Crimes Unit at the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office.
The 27-year-old’s remains were sent back to her homeland “with signs of an autopsy that was performed before arrival in Ukraine,” he said.
According to The Independent, she passed away during her transfer from a prison in Taganrog, southern Russia, to Moscow.
