The safe landing of SpaceX Crew-10 at the International Space Station opens the door for the repatriation of stranded NASA personnel to Earth.

Following the arrival of Crew-9, which included Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov and American astronaut Nick Hague, on the ISS in August, the space-traveling pair were subsequently.

Included into a departure plan. The absence of an emergency escape pod for those who would stay on the ISS also led to the cancellation of that proposal.

Wilmore and Williams will now both go back to Earth with Crew-9. Elon Musk, the creator of SpaceX, said on X Saturday night that they should start their return journey in the next days.

Originally scheduled to launch on Wednesday night, Crew-10’s mission was delayed because of an issue with one of the rocket’s ground support clamp arms.
