Fans were very hurt by Emily’s attendance in a preliminary hearing in 2020 in support of Masterson, particularly after Chester had spoken candidly about having survived sexual assault.
Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, the wife of Bixler-Zavala, was one of numerous women who said that Masterson had molested them.
Masterson received a 30-year to life sentence after being found guilty on two charges of forced rape last year.
Emily addressed the matter after the outcry, perhaps mentioning Masterson even though she refrained from identifying him.
She said that years ago, at a hearing, she was asked to defend a person she considered a friend, but that she shouldn’t have been asked.
