The Stephen King Novel That Was Never Printed Was Removed From Store Shelves

Under the pen name Richard Bachman, “Rage” was released in 1977. In 1985, King published it as part of a book of short stories titled “The Bachman Books.”

Although the author chose to have it removed from publication, it was retained in the collection for a short time.

A disturbed high school kid holds captive his classmates and murders one of his professors in this suspenseful psychological thriller.

It is unsettling and unpleasant to read from the point of view of the gunman. It was supposedly King’s adolescent years and the frustrations he felt then that inspired the novel.
