On Monday, January 20, in Washington, DC, Trump, 78, was formally sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. To “preserve, protect, and defend” the Constitution was his pledge.

The Republican leader secured 312 electoral votes to win his second presidency after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in November 2024 after a fierce campaign.

Trump’s triumph, which secured his return to the White House after four years, was decisive, garnering more than half of the popular vote.

He became the first American president to hold the office for non-consecutive terms since Grover Cleveland with this triumph.
