Ru Paul’s Drag Race star The Vivienne’s family has announced that the drag queen passed away after a heart arrest following ketamine use.
The announcement follows the January 2025 discovery of The Vivienne, whose actual name was James Lee Williams, dead at their UK house.
As reported by BBC News, Chanel Williams, the sister of Vivienne, discussed the reason of death, stating that the family ‘continue to be totally saddened’ by the artist’s passing.
The performer was just 32 years old at the time of their death. Simon Jones, the Vivienne’s manager and close friend, said that the family decided to disclose the cause of death in an effort.
To raise awareness about ketamine usage, while local police have stated that there are no unusual circumstances surrounding the Vivienne’s death.
