Rob Burrow, a rugby league player for the Leeds Rhinos and Great Britain, passed away in Wakefield’s Pinderfields Hospital.
The 41-year-old athlete received a motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis in 2019, two weeks after he retired.
Over the course of his prosperous 17-year career, Burrow won two Challenge Cups, three World Club Challenges, and eight Super League Grand Finals.
The Rhinos announced his death. Since receiving his diagnosis in December 2019, Rob’s valiant fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has inspired the whole nation.
After becoming unwell earlier this week, he died quietly at Pinderfields Hospital close to his house, surrounded by his devoted family, according to their statement.
