About two hours south of Atlanta, a distraught family is requesting explanations from Georgia’s Division of Family & Children Services.

During a health check last Friday at the Westwood Trailer Park in Perry, Houston County, the awful discovery was made.

Police discovered the deaths of four family members—two-year-old A’Layah Joyner and women who were 82, 51, and 37 years old—inside the house.

Three of the victims had been stabbed, and one had been choked, according to autopsies. Authorities have not established who is responsible for the deaths, and no arrests have been made public.

Teresa Fears, A’Layah’s aunt, and Constance Braswell, her godmother, are now speaking out exclusively to 11Alive News, claiming that the system failed the young child.
