According to Major Rob Jones of the Kentucky-based Corbin Police Department, “people need to realize this is happening.”
Jones continued by explaining that sliding was first brought to the attention of his police department in 2013. People who were harmed by this first thought that they had misplaced.
Their belongings in the store where they had previously shopped and were totally ignorant that their automobile had been broken into.
Jones said, “It really makes you think.” Similar crimes have been reported by other police agencies according to Sgt.
Brian Unmisig of the Pinellas Park Police Department in Florida, “if the person pumping gas is facing away from the car.
It’s just a perfect opportunity for them to quietly sneak in and grab what they’re looking for, get back, and make a quick getaway in the car.”
