“Told me not to raise grooming gang ethnicity to keep votes,” said the former Labour chairman.

Elon Musk called Labour’s failure to conduct a public investigation into Oldham’s grooming gangs “disgraceful” on Wednesday night.

Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips said that the decision to investigate claims of abuse between 2011 and 2014 was “for Oldham council alone.”

On his social media platform X, Mr. Musk said that Ms. Phillip “deserves to be in prison” in response to a GB News story on her comments.

Robbie Moore, the shadow minister of agriculture, was the first Tory frontbencher to call for Ms. Phillips’ resignation on Thursday.

He said, “Jess Phillips, our so-called minister for safeguarding and violence against women and girls, should step down immediately.”
