Black Jeopardy was one of the first skits on NBC’s three-hour live special commemorating the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live.
The spoof show’s participants were Leslie Jones as Shanice, Tracy Morgan as Darius, and Eddie Murphy as Tracy Morgan, who was standing next to Thompson as presenter Darnell Hayes.
“Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” Thompson said at the beginning of the spoof.
Chris Rock, a cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1993, also made an unexpected appearance and took over as host for a short while.
One fan said, “Whoever came up with Eddie Murphy impersonating Tracy Morgan needs a raise,” in appreciation of Murphy’s portrayal of Tracy Morgan.
