They’re now facing the possibility of raising a child born under traumatic, medically uncertain conditions, with potential long-term disabilities.
“She’s pregnant with my grandson,” April said. “But my grandson may be blind, may not be able to walk, wheelchair-bound — we don’t know if he’ll live once she has him.
It should have been left up to the family… we’re in our 50s, her partner is young, and we’ll be the ones raising her sons.”
The family now lives in emotional and legal limbo, caught between hospital policies, state abortion laws, and a complex ethics dilemma.
