Trump and Zelensky have a contentious in-person meeting on the sidelines of Pope Francis’ funeral.

At Pope Francis’s burial, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky had their first meeting since a disastrous White House altercation in which the US president pressures the Ukrainian to reach a peace agreement with Russia.

More information will be released after the “very productive” discussion between the two, according to the White House.

“President Trump and President Zelensky had a very fruitful conversation during their private meeting today,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said.

Later, Zelensky wrote on X: “Nice meeting.” One-on-one, we talked about a lot. I’m hoping that what we discussed will provide results.
