Zelensky gave Trump a sidelong glance, but they were not spotted together in public. Prior to the funeral, both parties had left open the possibility of a meeting, with Trump stating that it was just “possible.”

On Friday, the president reported that his envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin had had fruitful discussions.
In order to reach an agreement, he demanded that Kyiv and Moscow meet at a high level.
