Donald Trump, the next president of the United States, has made bold promises to abolish birthright citizenship and deport millions of immigrants who are in the nation illegally.

Trump said that when he takes office on January 20, he would declare illegal immigration a national emergency in an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press.

“I believe you must do it. It’s a very difficult task. “You know, you have laws, rules, and regulations,” Trump said, restating.

His pledge to expunge all undocumented immigrants during his four-year tenure. The Department of Homeland Security projected that more over 11 million persons.

Were in the United States without legal status as of January 2022; that number is probably greater now.

Trump indicated a readiness to discuss protections for “Dreamers,” immigrants brought to the US as minors, while reiterating his strong position.
