Dr. Casey Means is President Donald Trump’s new surgeon general nominee; he has withdrawn his earlier choice of Dr. Janette Nesheiwat.
Trump made the news on his Truth Social account on Wednesday.
Stanford Medical School alumnus Means is well-known for emphasizing nutrition and metabolic health as preventative medicine.
Together with her brother Calley Means, a strong supporter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) campaign, she co-wrote a book on the topic.
Additionally, Calley Means represents the movement as a public spokesperson.
President Trump used Dr. Means’ compatibility with the MAHA program and her ability to collaborate effectively with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as justification for his announcement.
