Two guys were punished by a Louisiana district court for slitting a dog’s neck in order to get views on Snapchat. Sadler Steven and Boots Stanley won’t go to jail after killing a puppy on camera.
Rather, each man will be subject to a three-year probationary period and be obliged to do 480 hours of community service.
In addition, they were had to pay a $5,000 fine for the offense against the dog. At their arraignment in April of last year, Sadler and Stanley acknowledged committing the charge of severe animal cruelty.
Given their cruel treatment of the animal, the district attorney’s office requested a harsh penalty. At first, the guys faced a 10-year prison sentence and a $25,000 fine.
Judge Carl Sharp, however, claimed that he based the judgment on the presented facts and the code of criminal process.
