Spanish investigators found that the man, who is Venezuelan, had twice recorded himself raping his daughter in his apartment in the Aluche neighborhood of south-west Madrid.
It was also discovered that he had posted video of the horrifying deed on the dark web.
He was arrested in 2023 as a result of the startling finding. ‘I was unwell and couldn’t stop what I was doing,’ Santiago reportedly said police when he was arrested, according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
Santiago acknowledged the allegations of one act of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of producing child pornography during the trial earlier this month.
Santiago was also discovered to have downloaded and shared “extremely harsh” child pornographic material over a number of social media sites and instant messaging apps.
He was given a 17-year prison sentence, barred from seeing his daughter within 500 meters, and had his parental rights revoked for ten years.
