Asheville Police Department spokesperson Samantha Booth confirmed that Unbehaun was released on Tuesday morning after posting bail, despite initially being detained on a hefty $250,000 bond.
The case started on July 4, 2017, when Kayla, who was nine years old at the time, was allegedly kidnapped by Unbehaun after.
