Asheville Police Department spokesperson Samantha Booth confirmed that Unbehaun was released on Tuesday morning after posting bail, despite initially being detained on a hefty $250,000 bond.
The case started on July 4, 2017, when Kayla, who was nine years old at the time, was allegedly kidnapped by Unbehaun after.

That they were going camping after the parade, things took a bad turn. Since Unbehaun and Kayla did not return, a felony warrant was issued for Unbehaun’s arrest on suspicion of abduction.
