Schumer and Jeffries apparently discussed in their separate private sessions how his presence may hurt the Democrats’ prospects in November.
An explanation was provided by White House spokesman Andrew Bates after the reports: “The president told both leaders he is the nominee of the party,
he plans to win and looks forward to working with both of them to pass his 100 days agenda to help working families,” according to the site.
The president is still going strong at 81 years old, according to the White House, despite the fact that he has sleep apnea and a back ailment that causes him to be stiff.
