Video of rhythmic gymnast’s ‘Thriller’ performance goes viral as spectators exclaim, ‘they’ve never seen anything like that’

There was a rhythmic gymnastics performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics that viewers said had “never seen anything like it before,” and it left them marveling.

The preliminary round of the women’s rhythmic individual all-around competition began on Thursday, August 8th, at the Adidas Arena, in preparation for Friday’s final.

Gymnasts are required to showcase their skills with the ball, hoop, clubs, and ribbon in four separate routines. A final total is generated by adding together all of the scores.

While witnessing the hoop round, fans were struck in awe by the routine performed by Taisiia Onofriichuk of Ukraine.

‘Thriller’ by Michael Jackson served as the soundtrack for the Ukrainian’s floor work, which she created when she was fifteen years old.
