Her family statement went on to say: “Virginia realized she had to fight back against those who had harmed her and so many others when she held her newborn daughter in her arms.
“The profound sadness we experience today due to the demise of our beloved Virginia is beyond words.
“She was a hero who will never be forgotten for her extraordinary bravery and compassion.
Ultimately, Virginia was unable to bear the burden of abuse because it was so great. It said, “We are aware that she is with the angels.”
