Following his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Vatican prior to Pope Francis’ funeral, Donald Trump conveyed a message to Vladimir Putin.
Someone had gotten them chairs so they could talk before they went out to attend the pope’s funeral, and they were photographed talking before the event.
The two had never met in person since Zelenskyy was scolded by Trump and JD Vance at the White House, and this seemed to be a far more serious exchange.
Following the meeting, Zelenskyy described it as a “good meeting” and the White House described it as a “very productive discussion.” These statements were a little hopeful.
Regarding their conversation, the president of Ukraine stated: “Preserving the lives of our citizens. complete and unqualified cessation of hostilities.
Enduring and dependable peace that will keep another conflict from starting.
