A manhole erupted just seconds after a grandma and her two grandchildren walked over it, almost killing them.
According to a statement from the Poughkeepsie Fire Department, the event happened on Saturday, April 19, at approximately 1:30 p.m. local time in the city of Poughkeepsie.
N.Y., which is roughly 85 miles north of New York City. The police released a video showing the woman strolling with a child next to her and another in a stroller when the explosion occurs, forcing them to flee.
It was reported by the Poughkeepsie Fire Department that a manhole “halfway down the block,” along with another on a nearby corner, “had also exploded, very narrowly missing three pedestrians.”
“Fortunately, there were no reported injuries,” the fire department continued.
