A disturbing Snapchat video of a childcare provider in NSW striking a sobbing infant in the face has surfaced.
The footage, which ABC’s 7.30 was able to secure, was shot at an Affinity Education facility in the South Strathfield neighborhood of inner-western Sydney.
Another colleague recorded the nine-second clip in May 2023, and it is just one of hundreds of incidents found in recently made public documents.
After NSW Greens MP Abigail Boyd petitioned the state’s daycare regulator to release a batch of industry regulatory
Documents, the broadcaster investigated Affinity Education, which operates 250 childcare centers nationwide.
According to a former employee of Affinity, cost-cutting measures at work have resulted in concerning staff-to-child ratios and “caused serious incidents in the center.”
