Tragically, an 18-year-old Southern California high school tennis star was killed a few weeks before he was about to graduate and enroll in college.
On Sunday, May 4, Fox News reported that a suspected drunk driver in Manhattan Beach struck and killed Braun Levi, a senior at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.
After Levi was discovered lying in the roadway next to a car, the Manhattan Beach Police Department stated that police had arrested 33-year-old Jenia Belt at 12:46 AM on suspicion of DUI and murder.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Belt is presently being held in Manhattan Beach without being granted bail.
According to court and DMV documents that The Times was able to get, the accused driver was not legally allowed to be driving at the time of Sunday’s collision and had previously been charged with DUI on November 25, 2023.
Belt was charged with a number of offenses in the 2023 incident, including hit-and-run with property damage.
Driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher, driving with a BAC of 0.15 or more, and refusing a chemical test.
