“I want people to understand the darkness I came from and that I actually managed to get myself out from under it,” she said when asked why she did it.
“I still have trouble believing that my dad has no influence on who I am and that I am my own person.”
She acknowledged that seeing her father again was bittersweet, adding that although he initially appeared to be improving, his “true colors” gradually began to surface once more.
