Maria Vasquez was reported last week. The Medical Examiner’s Office verified three days after Kohler’s death that HCSO Deputy Maria Vasquez, who departed the agency.
In December 2024, had also passed away on March 16 by suicide. It seems that the 42-year-old passed away at her residence in Houston’s 8600 block of Almeda Genoa Road.
An HSCO Facebook post honoring Kohler and Vasquez’s lives said, “Heaven has gained two beautiful angels,” from the Office’s Community Engagement Division.
“May their memory be a blessing, giving their friends, family, and coworkers courage and consolation during this trying time.”
Two more former deputies have committed suicide. Not only have Vasquez and Kohler shocked the HSCO, but on March 19, ABC 13 Eyewitness.
News reported that 61-year-old former deputy William Bozeman had also been discovered in identical circumstances.
