What have the eyewitnesses said?
While attending the event, James Cruzat, a business owner from Vancouver, heard a car rev its engine and then “a loud noise, like a loud bang,” which at first he believed to be a gunshot.
According to PA, he stated, “We saw people on the road crying, others were like running, shouting, or even screaming, asking for help.”
“Until we saw some bodies on the ground, we attempted to go there to see what was truly happening. Others were hurt, and some were dead.
“Seeing that kind of thing and that circumstance was awful. It was devastating. Since we typically see that on TV or in movies, I couldn’t even fathom that it’s truly happening in real life.
However, it was somewhat startling when you were in that kind of circumstance. Like, you were unable to think clearly. All you could do was offer up prayers for them.
