when defining “abrosexual,” a TikToker gained accolades when the phrase caused confusion online.

The word “abro-” means “delicate” or “graceful,” and this origin of the phrase represents the fluidity with which an abrosexual person’s sexual desire may change.

Emma Flint wrote a personal article for the Metro on her experience as an abrosexual, including the difficulties and myths around it.

“I didn’t learn about abrosexuality until two years ago, when I was 30,” she said. “Up until that point, I’d struggled to identify what my sexuality was because it fluctuated so rapidly.”

Emma thanked her loved ones for their support, even if some of them had trouble understanding at first.

“I’m happy to say that the rest of my friends and family have been very supportive of my identity and have strived to learn more,” she said. She did concede, however, that not every response had been kind.
