When the family of a woman who had been “buried alive” for eleven days opened her casket, they said her body was still warm.

A neighbor reported hearing two groans before the noise subsided and she heard cries.

Following the recovery of dos Santos’s body, a number of locals are said to have gone to the cemetery to view her and confirm that she was still warm.

The family reported the incident to the police, believing that dos Santos, a married man without children, had been mistakenly proclaimed dead after only one week in the hospital.
